Most noticeably, his Voyager figure, which we’ll be looking at today. His design was awesome and most of his toys were well received. Subject to availability.That was disappointing but The Last Knight brought us a really nice redesign for old Megatron here.
The cockpit is a translucent orange plastic which is a nice touch.There’s not much playability in this mode. I hope that makes sense.There’s just enough colour in jet mode and a lot of molded detail. However, Megatron’s jet mode this time doesn’t look like a mess of alien shapes and instead looks like a jet that happens to be alien.
Megatron looks more tidy than the other forms he took before but if you look closely, he’s actually detailed asymmetrically.Megatron has a good amount of posability in robot mode. Seriously, the first Bayverse Megatron looked like a jagged monster but this Megatron looks like a… knightmare personified.Like the jet mode, there’s just enough paint to look good but way more detail than you’d expect based on first impressions. Robot modeMegatron looks like a freaking nightmare in robot mode and it’s awesome. I especially like the way the wings turn into the legs and vice versa. Like, it’s simple to do but it’s very clever and gets parts rearranged in fewer steps than you’d think. You can store his sword in this mode though, so that counts? TransformationThe transformation is really smart.
His feet pivot left and right as well as move forward a big. He has thigh swivels and bending knees. His legs rotate as well as go in and out at the hips. His hands can swing in at the wrists. He has bicep swivels and bending elbows. His arms rotate as well as go in and out at the shoulders.

As such, Voyager Megatron now actually costs more than retail brand new nowadays.Also, he’s absolutely the best Voyager Bayverse Megatron we ever got. Yeah, Megatron was not one of them he and a few others became hard to get but still highly sought after. Toy or collectible?Most of the Premier Edition figures got put on clearance pretty hard after the movie hype died down. His eyes look freaky when light hits the top of his head.
The toyline looked stellar, the trailer made it look like the focus was gonna be on the Transformers and Megatron was finally gonna be in the spotlight this time.But the toyline was great and Megatron is a terrific Transformer. ClosingPart of the reason The Last Knight was so disappointing was because it looked like they really made an effort on it this round. Megatron here’s got two great modes and a complex but intuitive transformation that shouldn’t frustrate kids. And that’s impressive.Still, if you got the money to burn and wanna get him for an older kid, go ahead.
Handling him is great because he just feels high quality.Definitely get this Megatron, especially if you’re into collecting mainline retail Transformers.
